Creating top quality games
Game progamming
For many years, Travian Games products have represented high-quality, long-lasting game entertainment. Bavaria’s biggest gaming company has several dedicated and stable development teams that are able to focus on specific, individual projects. So far, the company has brought out the successful and multiple award-winning products Travian, Travians and Remanum, while development work continues on Imperion and other titles that have not yet been announced officially.
Each internal team consist of up to 20 employees and uses agile project management methods (for example Scrum). They can choose the operating system they wish to work with – allowing them to concentrate on their work in a familiar working environment. Communication within the team including the project management is promoted in the generously-proportioned working environments. Our professional processes include daily stand-up meetings and comprehensive test runs (acceptance tests, unit tests, continuous integration and much more). This ensures that a product matching the typical quality of a Travian Games title is on the correct track right from the start. Our teams demonstrate this repeatedly with early versions that already reflect the excellent quality of their work.
To enable our programmers and employees to include the latest technical developments in their day-to-day work, we ensure that there are regular training sessions, conference visits, and barcamps. Continuous cooperation between the Game Design, Product Management and IT department ensures that every employee understands the “big picture”. We actively promote and support “specialized all-rounders”. This differentiates the working methods at Travian Games significantly from those of other game developers, who have much more strictly separated departmental processes.
We are still looking for employees with competence in the programming languages of PHP (backend) and HTML, JS, CSS or Flash (frontend). The value that Travian Games places on PHP developers, for example, shows why the company is already Europe’s largest license holder for Zend Studios Eclipse.
