Travian Games news politicians visit

Travian Games invites Munich's leading candidates for the Bundestag election to a company tour and open discussion.

Munich, September 14th, 2017 – As a member of the Federal Association of Interactive Entertainment Software (BIU), Travian Games is actively committed to issues concerning the need for skilled labor and the improvement of local conditions for game developers in Germany. The Managing Director of Travian Games, Lars Janssen, set himself the task of pursuing this objective: "We want to enter into active, regular dialog with policy makers at the local and federal level in order to work together to improve the prevailing conditions for developing internationally competitive products. This requires training and study programs tailored to the games industry, the immigration of foreign qualified labor specifically, as well as the federation's firm support for games development in Germany."

His invitation was accepted by Bernhard Loos, Bundestag candidate for the CSU in the Munich-North constituency, Daniel Föst, General Secretary of FDP Bavaria, and Ates Gürpinar, Bundestag candidate for DIE LINKE in the Munich-North constituency.

During their one-hour tour of the premises of the Travian Games GmbH headquarters, the politicians and officials were given the opportunity to look behind the scenes of a German developer and publisher in the games industry. Managing Director Janssen also presented the various game titles and upcoming projects to the attendees.

According to BIU findings, Germany is one of the world's largest markets for computer and video games, but only a relatively small production location. The potential for entertainment software here remains largely untapped. As part of the open discussion that followed, the issues of promoting game development within Germany, the need for skilled labor in IT and the games industry, and the parties' positions with respect to computer and video games were given special attention. The dialog underscored just how important close cooperation between policy makers and the games industry has become in the era of digitization, in order to also drive the positive global trend in Germany. By hosting this event, Travian Games has made tentative inroads into the political environment. Travian Games would like to thank the politicians who visited for their time and interest.
